Success case: SMARTIVE
The Start-Up SMARTIVE will develop a low cost Cloud Monitoring for the diagnosis and prognostic of the wind turbines.
SMARTIVE is a Spanish Start-Up company dedicated to develop in-cloud platforms to control, monitor and diagnose wind turbines. Its aim is to develop cloud-based software tools in order to improve the productivity of wind farms through the detection of anomalous operations and the effective programming of preventive and corrective maintenance operations.
As a Champion of an SME Instrument Phase I the company received individual coaching on innovation. After the first analysis of their needs, ACCIÓ recommended SMARTIVE to focus their coach on their target market approach and the overall business model definition.
Amongst three different options pre-selected by ACCIÓ, the company chose a coach having experience collaborating with energy sector SME Instrument Champions companies. As a result, SMARTIVE defined the right target client combined with the right value-added proposition.
Once the business model was defined, the company started selling their product to big companies increasing by 200K € the company’s annual turnover. Besides, the company submitted an outstanding SME Instrument Phase II proposal, that resulted into 878K€ grant from the EU. As a result, SMARTIVE will combine IoT and Cloud computing to develop a unique condition monitoring solution. This new tool will allow adjusting operations and consequently the productivity of wind farms.
