Sens Solutions is a SME that develops IOT devices to measure the quality of the air and water, paying attention to bacteria measurements.

They develop biosensors or sensors that they are not disposable in the market. They were working on measure the quality of the air, developing a new system to detect bacteria by spectrophotometer, and they wanted to contribute with a device that measures bacteria in the air, in real time.

Tech4care is an Italian start up already involved by the Chamber of Commerce of Marche in the EEN activities, in the past. Its core business concerns the development, test and commercialization of technological solutions based on mobile health (mHealth), artificial intelligence (AI), virtual reality (VR) and Internet-of-Things (IoT). The company was looking for a Spanish partner to go to the pre-commercial procurement of anti-superbugs, led by AQUAS, a Catalan agency of the Catalan Government.

During an EEN Workshop named "Public Procurement of Innovation: Open Tenders in the Health sector", organized by ACCIÓ on 22/02/2019, some public entities presented their tender, such as AQUAS (the Catalan agency for health quality and evaluation) with their anti-superbugs pre-commercial procurement. Several EEN partners promoted the event and as a result it was possible to collect information from companies that submitted an interest in finding partners for some healthcare tender of innovation.


Thanks to the cooperation between EEN partners Tech4Care and Sens Solutions were rapidly put them in contact. They met each other and they worked and submitted an offer, which has been one of the winners of phase 1, being awarded with a contract value maximum of 78.332€ and just recently won the phase 2, being awarded with a contract value maximum of 360.804€. The last and third phase will be resolved in 2021 with a foreseen contract value maximum of 726.355€ and the final contract hopefully will be awarded.

The results of follow up activities showed that both parties were very satisfied of the opportunity given to cooperate and with this partnership they expect several positive impacts, such as improving their positioning on the market, increasing turnover, creating new jobs and developing innovation.
